EUROJUST

Eurojust stimulates and improves the coordination of investigations and prosecutions and the cooperation between the competent authorities in the Member States, particularly by facilitating the execution of international mutual legal assistance requests and the implementation of extradition requests. Eurojust supports in any way possible the competent authorities of the Member States to render their investigations and prosecutions more effective when dealing with cross-border crime.

Short description NWP organisation	Eurojust stimulates and improves the coordination of investigations and prosecutions and the cooperation between the competent authorities in the Member States, particularly by facilitating the execution of international mutual legal assistance requests and the implementation of extradition requests. Eurojust supports in any way possible the competent authorities of the Member States to render their investigations and prosecutions more effective when dealing with cross-border crime. At the request of a Member State, Eurojust may assist investigations and prosecutions concerning that particular Member State and a non-Member State if a cooperation agreement has been concluded or if an essential interest in providing such assistance is demonstrated. Throughout the year, Eurojust offers a number of internships to provide individuals with the opportunity to learn more about the activities of their organization, and put their learning and skills into practice by contributing to Eurojust’s mission. The Eurojust internship programme aims to: Provide interns, during their studies or recently after completing their studies, with experience of the workings of Eurojust in particular and the European Union institutions and bodies in general; Enable interns to acquire practical experience and knowledge of the day-to-day work of the College and/or Administration, as applicable; Provide an opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and multi-linguistic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance; and Provide an opportunity for interns to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their studies, particularly in their specific areas of competence. Eurojust benefits from the input of enthusiastic interns, who can provide a fresh point of view and up-to-date knowledge to enhance the everyday work of Eurojust. Eurojust will also benefit from creating a pool of people with first-hand experience of Eurojust, who could then cooperate with Eurojust or other EU bodies in the future and act as long-term ‘goodwill ambassadors’ to protect and promote the ideas and values of Eurojust and the EU institutions and bodies.

Selection procedure	Yes: to be eligible, an applicant must: have reached the age of majority in his/her country of origin; have completed or be currently undertaking a level of education that corresponds to university studies or vocational training relevant to the tasks of the internship at Eurojust or, alternatively, have relevant professional experience that would benefit the internship; and have a satisfactory level of proficiency in written and spoken English (minimum level B2 as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference – CEFR)
